A Day of Football, Friendship, and Fun at Trafford

Last week, Northern Case Management’s Team Administrator Clare Egerton, and Senior Case Manager Debbie Demain had the absolute pleasure of joining their client at his weekly football session at Trafford alongside members of their client’s dedicated support team.

The session is run by Heads Up Therapies, and their client has been a regular attendee for several years now. Rain or shine, he never misses a game and after attending and joining in, it was easy to see why!

Heads Up Therapies is a private Occupational Therapy company based in Manchester, and they specialise in working with individuals who have sustained acquired brain injuries and help to rebuild their lives by taking a unique and flexible approach to their rehabilitation.

Claire said “They had invited us to come along, and I must say, it was one of the best days I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere was full of laughter and energy as we played three lively football matches, each team giving it their all. We were warmly welcomed by everyone.”

Debbie also said of the day, “We bought pink bibs to wear and the client presented his support workers with a medal and certificate after the game, we were rubbish but laughed the whole time.”

It was also a valuable opportunity to step out from behind the scenes and witness firsthand the kind of joy and connection our clients experience through these sessions. Seeing them interact with his peers and engage so enthusiastically reminded us of the importance of the work we do and the impact it has.

The team even found themselves asking if they could come back and join in again.
